Allison Alvarez, Staff Writer

School is back in session which means so is Skull and Bones Drama Club. The first production of the 2021-2022 season is Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”; the show is full of romance, comedy, and of course dramatics. Directors, Ms. Dimitrious and Mrs. Sirof announced the show in September at the club’s first meeting, and ever since members of the club hath been working endlessly on making Skull and Bones’ first play since 2019 a breathtaking success. Actors went to a Shakespearean workshop held by the directors in order to prepare them for their auditions. The rehearsal process started in late September so actors could familiarize themselves with the script. A few weeks later lighting, sound, costumes, set design, and running crew were added into the mix in order to elevate the production.

Senior Anthony Karagianes, Sophomore Sinead Pierce, Junior Sydney Florio, and Senior Maria Torres play the roles of the four lovers: Demetrious, Helena, Lysander, and Hermia respectively. “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” revolves around what the directors lovingly refer to as this “love parallelogram.” All these young Athenians want is to marry the one they love but with magic, time, and tradition against them it is unlikely that they will have much say in the matter. On November 19th and 20th at 7pm in Mepham’s own auditorium these mysteries and more were revealed. For only $5 you were able to see your classmates in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”!
