In Mepham High School we have a kickline team led by Ms. Dennis. One of the girls I interviewed is Jojo Miccio, a senior in her fourth year on Mepham’s kickline team.

Miccio loves to be on the kickline team because they won regionals in sophomore year. The team has lots of skills and works hard on its choreography. Miccio is one of the two kickline captains this year along with Senior Gabrielle Baken. Miccio is passionate about kickline as she has been dancing for ten years.

Social studies teacher Ms. Kerry Dennis coaches the Mepham kickline team for 17 years and helps them win competitions. The team won grand champs in 2017 and 2023 for the highest scoring dance of the day. The kickline team also raises money for traveling expenses. Jojo and The kickline team won grand champs for pom and team category. There are lots of different styles of dancing for kickline. The team is fierce and competitive and the Pirettes practice every day.

The kickline team is composed of amazing dancers who work very hard for the things they love. They are willing to put in the time and  effort to succeed at competition and in life.
