Earlier this year, one of Mepham’s biggest events, Battle of the Classes, was held. This event was held at Brookside on November 13th, where students from all grades came together to participate or spectate. This year’s theme was TV shows. The artistic minds of each grade took place and posters were made for each theme.; Poster themes from Victorious, Stranger Things, Spongebob, and Jersey Shore were a hit. The Juniors took the lead for the poster competition this year with Jersey Shore, but what about the games?
Freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors took the competitive battle for the BOTC title through games such as beach volleyball, scooter racing, the two-legged race, and many more. The enthusiasm from each grade made the night never to be forgotten as it brought competition and sportsmanship into play. Let’s not forget the faculty who competed against all four grades, while still being the teachers we know and love at Mepham. Soon, the results were revealed and the Seniors had won this year’s title for BOTC, taking on a withstanding victory in the final game of Tug of War. Not only was this a night full of excitement with an ecstatic crowd, but as a community, we helped raise money for the Ronald McDonald Foundation, which helps families provide for their ill children. Thanks to Mepham’s extreme determination and empathy for the community towards this fun event, with the courtesy of our faculty members led by Ms. Dennis and Mr. Patten, the night was unforgettable.
