On March 31, Mepham’s Skull and Bones Drama Club had their opening night for the musical “Grease” written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casesy. The first performance took place at 7pm in the auditorium and tickets were sold for $15 at the door. There were two more performances held on April 1 at 2pm and 7pm. The musical “Grease,” based on the iconic 1970s movie “Grease,” follows a group of high school students in the 1950s and their adventures through romance and friendship.
The musical follows the two main characters Sandy Dumbrowski (Samantha Rooney) and Danny Zuko (Riley Adams), as they battle between romance and the influence of high school cliques. Between the onstage choreography and the talented vocal performance, it is easy to say Skull and Bones has once again knocked it out of the park. The cast performed classic songs like “We Go Together” and “You’re The One That I Want.”
The costumes that appeared in the musical were definitely eye-catching. The cast of the Pink Ladies wore the iconic pink jackets that are seen in the film, as well as the leather jackets worn by the boys. As the musical takes place in the 1950s, it was impressive to see the adaption of fashion in the 50s through the cast’s costumes.
Skull and Bones always exceeds expectations with their astonishing performances, and there is so much thrill for their next one!
