6:19. Three people on every row of bleachers. 6:20. Four people. 6:21. Six people. 6:25. Bleachers are completely full. On one side, freshmen and sophomores. On the other, juniors and seniors. As the rows become packed, people move down to the floor, scrambling for any possible place to sit. Music blasting, but the crowds are louder.
Prior to the actual main event, the seniors have racked up enough points to put themselves in the lead.
The event kicked off with a bang of volleyball as a massive beach ball was tossed into the center of the crowd. What started as a game of keeping the beach ball afloat quickly escalated into a hilarious mess when it began deflating mid-air, causing immediate laughter from all four classes. With no ball, the competition took a surprising turn with an unconventional challenge—rock, paper, scissors. The crowd was kept on their toes the entire rest of the rounds of the hand game.
As the event continued, the seniors maintained the lead, showing infectious enthusiasm in every challenge. The freshmen, sophomores, and juniors joined in the fun, cheering and dancing along to the music, creating an incredible vibe of support and energy that echoed throughout the entire gym. The freshmen made a splash with their BOTC dance debut, presenting a routine set to a mix of trendy Barbie songs, including the infamous “I’m Just Ken.” The sophomores wowed the crowd with their own dance, featuring an Alice and the Mad Hatter duo performing flips and tricks that left everyone laughing and in awe. Juniors pulled through with possibly the most incredible kickline of the night. In a surprising remix, the seniors also took the stage with their own rendition of “I’m Just Ken,” sparking playful “booing” from the freshmen on the sidelines. The faculty joined, teaming up with the Kickline girls to perform a dance that showed their skills beyond the classroom, earning the most cheers and applause. However, the most chaotic and unpredictable event of the day was the running relays. As students sprinted across the field at Usain Bolt speeds, the atmosphere became a hilarious mix of competitiveness and camaraderie.
As the dust settled and the final standings were announced, it was the seniors who emerged victorious (are we surprised?), claiming the top spot in the Battle of the Classes. By the end, sophomores placed second, juniors third, and freshmen fourth.
