BookTok has had an immense effect on the lives of so many. Not just the readers, but many authors have found such success due to Booktok. Through BookTok, many authors have put their work out there so that readers can enjoy it. I know I myself have read so many books due to BookTok that I would not have found on my own.

The accessibility of BookTok is amazing, and one of the key reasons why it has been so successful. All readers have to do to find a book that they might enjoy is search for the genre they are interested in on TikTok. For example, one very popular genre on BookTok is romance. From there, readers can find so many books that other fellow BookTokkers have created videos about or even authors looking to advertise their own books. For example, author Victoria Aveyard has gained over 400,000 followers on TikTok by promoting her books. It is truly such an innovative idea. 

BookTok has had tremendous effects for authors. Many authors have gained new fans and popularity through BookTok. The Cornell Daily Sun shares, “The strongest example is Sarah J. Mass, a renowned fantasy author who gained widespread popularity on BookTok. Just in between January and June of 2024, Mass has sold 4.83 million print books.” This goes to show BookTok has so many benefits for various groups of people.
