We Mean Green

Recently, a new club was created in our school called We Mean Green. In fact, I am the one who created it and Mr. Graziano has helped us get started! We Mean Green is an environmental club where we discuss and partake in activities to help save the planet, whether it is raising money or beach clean ups or even just learning about the environment. We even give out community service hours to those who participate in these activities.
I’ve had this idea for over a year; I have always been interested in helping our planet so starting this club was something I have been thinking about and working on for a while. I finally found out that you could start a club at the end of last year, so I spoke with Dr. Carne about it and she thought it was something that this school needed. Although there is the Science Club, that focuses more on experiments and Science Olympiad, meanwhile We Mean Green focuses on saving the environment and what we can do, even as a small club, to help create a change.
One small step we are taking is creating a new recycling program in the school that will be more effective than the one we have now. Additionally, we are planning on participating in beach clean ups towards the end of the year to help our marine environment. Even though we are a small club, small actions can help make a change which is why I thought of starting this club. If you are interested in joining, you can speak to me, Artina, or Mr. Graziano, we meet on Wednesdays at 2:45 in room 310!
