n the 30s and 40s, there was a section of the school newspaper where students were asked an opinion question. Starting last year, I have taken that idea and used the old questions for the new part of “The Buccaneer”, “Students Speak”. This question was asked of the Mepham students in 1947 and again in 2023.
What does Thanksgiving mean to you? (2023 answers)
Adeline Degeilh: Family and friends coming together to eat and say what you’re thankful for.
Asher Chang: A time where I eat with my family reflecting on all that we are grateful for in our lives.
Nicoletta Russo: Being thankful that we get to live, have a roof over our heads, and spend time with our loving and caring family.
Eamon Andrews: Spending time with everyone I love, whether it’s family or found family.
